In my mind I can find a battlefield On one side, the horsemen rise in from the storm Behind the dust the preachers looking for a god to touch Love, won’t save you now. Baby we were holding on When the dream arrived We were floating on, The Colour of the Holy Sun The Holy Sun The Holy Sun The Holy Sun The skies are lined with the winds pride before a fall And with the treaty signed we begged the rain to take us all Beneath the floods the hurt get to drowning out the good Love, won’t save us now. Baby we were holding on Til’ the dream arrived We were floating on, The Colour of the Holy Sun The Holy Sun The Holy Sun

Some days it all makes sense There’s a kind of a confidence Hits me right at the break of dawn And it goes again when the time is wrong I’m a concorde baby, Moving fast, Out of sight and out of touch They all said it couldn’t last Supersonic, Sonic Boom, You’re sucking diesel and breathe the fumes, You can't touch me, I’m too hot, A freak of nature I’ll never stop I’m a concorde baby, Fly around the moon, Out of sight and out of touch The years ahead, they go too soon. Ooh la la, I just mean wow baby, wow I used to move at the speed of sound. Superhuman, Ubermensch I’d swap it all for another chance I’m a concorde baby, Moving fast, Out of sight and out of touch They all said it’s in the past. I’m a concorde baby, Moving (The Last Concorde, baby) Moving (The Last Concorde, baby) Moving.

Wild Silk 02:44
God above I’m bleeding, I’m dripping from my lungs. From my meat, you’re feeding, My bones on your pickled tongue. Man you’re to cut me, Where I’ve got no blood to spill. Hang me from your alter You’ll be choking on Wild Silk, choking on Wild Silk, choking on Wild Silk, choking on, wild. Your prayers will all be answered, Drowning on my milk. Buried in my garden. You’ll be choking on Wild Silk, choking on Wild Silk, choking on Wild Silk, choking on, wild. You’ll be choking on Wild Silk, choking on Wild Silk, choking on Wild Silk, choking on, wild.

To hear your native tongue, Call me blind, call me young. Sinking in the yellow sun, Pulse of heart, kindred drum. And to open up your sky From the heat of the morning, the dream of the night. We Are The Cosmos, We are evergreen. We Are The Cosmos, We are anemone. Throw yourself into the arms, Of a garden you call home. And fortune favours some, Who heed the call when you have the song. And to open up your sky From the heat of the morning, the dream of the night. We Are The Cosmos, We are evergreen. We Are The Cosmos, We are anemone.

The summer came and it spoke your name, And it took us away. It took us away. From the gorse and the green, scattered road to the sea, And the salt was the taste, the taste of the place. All in bloom, Our Youth Is A Parachute, All in bloom, Our Youth Is A Parachute. All at sea the years drift away. In between the days, when the night was our stage And we moved in the strangest of ways. From the light to the street, with your love in retreat, And the salt was the taste, the taste of the place. All in bloom, Our Youth Is A Parachute, All in bloom, Our Youth Is A Parachute. All at sea the years drift away. All in bloom, our is a parachute. All in bloom, our is a parachute. All at sea the years drift away.

Dead Trees 02:58
Where do you run when you run From the moon and the sun Do you dig underground Or learn to live with the sound Of the shattering glass My my my, are you willing to sacrifice Running out of time Oxygen or a sign from above With those cities still expanding Show me the gun. One by one, I see Dead Trees from the wood One by one, I see Dead Trees from the wood All of your sacrifices The catacombs are piling up When they are dividing up your land Trying to make mice right out of men When they come for you You won’t matter what you mind You’ll be running out of time Oxygen and sign from above With those deserts still expanding Show me the gun. One by one, I see Dead Trees from the wood One by one, I see Dead Trees from the wood. Dead Trees from the wood.

Radio Love 03:20
There’s a million reasons why, you're the only voice I’ve heard Calling out from all the way across the universe. If love stretches out that far, There’s not a chance the human heart, Couldn’t fill the space between the both of us. Didn’t you believe the things you’d seen Didn’t you hear the sound of Radio Love. Radio Love, Radio Love, Radio Love. Pressing play and hold record, Try remember all the words, Are you listening where you are, to Here Comes The Night? I was young just like us all, Keen to jump and scared to fall, I like to watch things on TV the way they used to be. Didn’t you believe the things you’d seen Didn’t you hear the sound of Radio Love. Radio Love, Radio Love, Radio Love. You’re wasting all your time, You’re wasting all your time, You’re wasting all your time.

A satellite town, stripped of it’s crown, Surrounded by the rabbit holes and the Borough-ing clowns. It feels hopeless to pray, and I stay anyway, Every step that I take is contradictory. You don’t know me from the wilderness, You don’t know me from the wild. You don’t know me from the wilderness, You don’t know me from the wild. We stop and start, till it tears us apart Drowning with the brown blood that’s filling our hearts. In a forest of fruits, there’s a foragers truth, We are not dead, this is no elegy. You don’t know me from the wilderness, You don’t know me from the wild. You don’t know me from the wilderness, You don’t know me from the wild. From the wilderness, I sink my teeth, From the wilderness, I sink my teeth, Through the bitterness you left us with, From the wilderness, I sink my teeth, From the Wilderness. From the Wilderness. From the Wilderness.

So It Goes 03:16
Fill yourself with wilderness, Spill yourself into the mist. Kill off life that follows plot, In the end there’ll be no twist. I won’t let it piss on you, Use me like a parachute. Whispering forget me nots, A little blue, yeah that will do. So it goes, So it goes, That we all feel the same when we witness the glistening dawn, Oh I know, so it goes, So it goes. Round and round we go, Cutting back the overgrow. Tattletales and TV screens, Looking up at those below. So it goes, So it goes, That we all feel the same when we witness the glistening dawn, Oh I know, so it goes, So it goes. So it goes, So it goes, That we all feel the same when we witness the glistening dawn, Oh I know, so it goes. So it goes.

about

Having demoed a bunch of songs at home we decided to try and record our new album analogue, and so began recording 'The Last Concorde' using a four track tape machine back in 2017.

During the two analogue recording sessions the tape machine malfunctioned and after a few days of work we watched as some of our recordings disappeared in front of our eyes. One suddenly combusting into flames and on the follow up session, a few weeks later, the tape began to twist and bend around the recorder as we bounced it down at the end of the day. It was an unfortunate risk we were working with, using second hand recording machinery, but in the end we decided that it was time to go back to recording the album digitally.

In December 2017, as we rehearsed to restart the album recording sessions, Shane complained of a pain in his side and a month later was rushed to the hospital. What should have probably been a fairly routine procedure in the summer of 2018 turned into a proper calamity and ordeal which left him critical for a number of days. He was really lucky, as were we, his friends and family. His recovery has been long and arduous.

At the start of 2020, we were thrilled to be back in a room rehearsing together as we had been doing since we were teenagers. Shane hadn't played drums in over two years so we wanted to take it slowly while he got his strength back. Little did we know how slow we would have to take it, as Covid-19 struck Ireland in March 2020.

Shane was forced to practice drums and work by himself for months and months to get his full strength back but eventually during the more tempered months of lockdown we began to record tracks again, for this long awaited album of ours.

Some of these songs have been recorded in 2017 while others were only written during the pandemic but we kept one idea consistent over the few years - we felt like making a cosmic sounding rock and roll album that was sonically huge, a monster. It's inspired by Pink Floyd, David Bowie, Big Star (and Chris Bell of course). Lyrically it's focused on the changing world and some of the elements of 21st century living such as the climate, the news, the paranoia and escapism but also nostalgia, youth and a real fascination with living.

We are more pleased than ever that we are able to share this album with you and to be able to play music together again at last.
